Description

:iconamythistangel07:'s commission. My first! :)

You should be able to figure out what's going on, but just in case I epically failed at my job here, I'll tell you: Etta (green) and Elaina (blue) are from European planets where the plugs are different. So their asking Maddy what's wrong with the outlets here. No matter the outcome, I can only really see everybody leaving incredibly frustrated. :D

A friend of mine has an outlet that just sits their on the wall, and yes, below it is a shelf that's the EXACT same color as the wall and if you angle just right it almost looks like it's not there at all. I wanted to do that here.

I think the problem here is that the colors aren't saturated that much. That's just me. Your vision with color was SEEN but I didn't think it hypothetically "transferred." In the show they weren't saturated that much which is why I think you had a lot of people already go, "ZOMG IS THAT GIBSON AND OTTO?!" But if they were to look at your other works you DO draw them in different colors then what you did with Etta and Elaina. When you mute the colors it makes all blues look the same, all oranges look the same, etc. I think Maddy's fur could have been a LITTLE more saturated but I don't think it looks yellow.

But aside from critique, I liked how you used the shading to convey the different surfaces. You had a lot of "sharp" shading for Elaina's nightgown to convey it was made of a shinier fabric whereas Etta and Maddy's shadows were softer. I don't know if you even THOUGHT about this detail but I really liked it.

I also like how you ever so slightly changed the bodyshapes of them to make them female, though I think I might have mentioned this in your recent picture of Nova. People might not THINK SO, but I could tell the difference with the folds/bulges in the cloth, etc. Then again I have an eye for detail. Speaking of which I LIKE the idea of the shelf and the outlet. It's practical. I don't personally have one but I've seen them and they look smart. It beats having a cord running off your shelf. XD

But I digress. This picture turned out REALLY WELL and was worth every penny of the commission. I am super happy to do business with you and AS ALWAYS you are a wonderful artist. The usual things you did well also ring true in the picture, the perspective is SPOT ON, expressions are great, and I could tell a lot of thought and care was put into this. So thanks. :)
